About Us

Founded by a Mexican-American family, Gatos Callejeros United was created to help sterilize and manage feral cat colonies through our Trap-Neuter-Return program.

In order to help the animals, we need to help our people.

Meet our Family

  • Jean

    Pronouns: HE/HIM/HIS

    FOUNDER

Jean decided to create Gatos Callejeros United after he realized the very little resources that Wilmington, CA has to Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) community cats. With his knowledge and experience of trapping feral cats, Jean does his best to bring our hispanic community together to help better the lives of street cats through TNR.

  • Ana

    Pronouns: SHE/HER/HERS

    TRANSPORTER

Ana has adored cats since childhood. Her favorite part of cat rescue is seeing the transformations of the sick ones that blossom into beautiful and healthy feline friends. Ana helps transport our foster kitties to their veterinarian check-ups and spay/neuter appointments!

  • Gustavo

    Pronouns: HE/HIM/HIS

    TRANSPORTER AND SPANISH TRANSLATOR

Although Gustavo grew up solely with dogs, our cat Moon has turned him into a total cat dad! He helps trap feral kittens and transports our feral friends to their surgery appointments! His favorite part of TNR is seeing the cats return home, where they can go back to enjoying their outdoor life.

  • Nita

    Pronouns: SHE/HER/HERS

    KITTY CUDDLER

Nita spends her time socializing spicy kittens that we rescue. She loves to create a calming environment for them to feel safe and loved, as they settle in and build their social skills!

  • Estefany

    Pronouns: SHE/HER/HERS

    COMMUNITY LEADER

From volunteering at our events to being in the field, Estefany spends her time listening to our community members’ needs. By speaking directly to our people, we are able to assist them with their most urgent needs for their feral cat colonies.
